Blue Economy Technology Transfer Program in TWIST Spanish Living Lab

The European project EMPORIA4KT, developed jointly by the national consortium CEIMAR, CTA and CENTA and financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area Program, launches the Blue Economy Technology Transfer Program, a program that will promote the development of the best routes for the commercialization and application of Early Stage Technologies to the market, thus promoting the Transfer of knowledge from academia to industry in the field of the Blue Economy, that will be developed in TWIST Spanish Living Lab.

This training program is intended for researchers from the 3 regions that belong to the national level of the Atlantic Arc: Galicia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands and is structured in 2 phases:

  • The first phase will consist of a series of online workshops (March 2021) in which the participants will receive training on technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • The second phase consists of a mentoring phase in which during 9 months (from April to December 2021) the participants will attend 3 one-day face-to-face events nationwide, in addition to online advisory meetings (1 or 2 per month) with the support of expert mentors from the industrial and academic sector in Blue Economy, for the design of the best marketing routes for the ESTs (Early Stage Technologies)

Within the framework of the Blue Economy Technology Transfer Program, 2 calls have been planned:

  • Calls for technologies: 3 technologies will be selected to design the best marketing route for each of them. The deadline for submitting applications ends on September 14, 2020.
  • Calls for researchers: 12 researchers will be selected to train and work with the selected technologies, applying the necessary resources for their transfer to the market. The application period is scheduled for the first week of September 2020.
